Northern Trust Builds On Fund Services Expansion With New Hires

Northern Trust has created new positions to support the expansion of its Global Fund Services business, which serves investment managers.

Paul Fahey, previously a global product manager at State Street Bank & Trust, joins as director of global product management and development, while Marc Mallett, who worked for firms including Thomson Reuters and Fidelity Investments, joins the firm as global head of client conversions, investment operations outsourcing.

They are joined by Fiona Horsewill as global head of PMO/architecture strategy for GFS and Mark Herraman as head of investment operations outsourcing client service, EMEA. Horsewill used to be the head of investment management operations for EMEA at Lehman Brothers, while Herraman was director of third party administration at Henderson Global Investors.

Northern Trust has also recently expanded its North American GFS team, with Matthew Ward as head of fund administration, Owen Meacham as senior corporate attorney, and Dragan Lazich as senior consultant for investment compliance.

"As our fund services business grows across the world, we continue to build our organization with roles that provide global continuity and add depth to our strong regional teams," Wilson Leech, the head of GFS, said in a statement.

"Recent strategic hires bring experience in fund servicing across regions and jurisdictions, and strong expertise in fund operations and consulting to improve our capacity for bringing on new clients and providing effective and efficient service regardless of location," Leech added.

Northern Trust's GFS unit services over 430 investment manager worldwide covering approximately 4,000 funds.
